About Guess for Good
Introducing Game-Based Crowdfunding!
Guess for Good is crowdfunding good causes through contests and prizes. The experience of Guess for Good blends the fun of playing a game, the hope of winning a prize, and the gratification of helping a good cause.
How does it Work?
A Guess for Good Campaign is made up of three key pieces:
- A Good Cause - an organization, group or individual for whom the game is raising money.
- A Game - A question that participants can guess on.
- Prizes - Rewards to the participants who performed the best.
In July of 2015 Guess for Good launched its first game based crowdfunding campaign. Joel, creator of Guess for Good, raised money to fund the creation and support of Guess for Good by building a model rocket with his son and launching it with an altimeter attached to measure its height. Through the month of July supports could guess how high the model rocket would fly. Prizes included an iPad Air 2 and a couple of Amazon Gift Cards. Guess for Good raised over $1,000 with the rocket launch. You can check out all of the results of the game and see videos of the rocket launch on our Guess for Good Rocket Launch Recap post.
When supporters participate in any contest they will be asked for a suggested donation based on the number of guesses they submit. This is how the money is raised for the beneficiary.
